Global Xchange Program!

I can not forget that moment when I was on the way to Nashik and got call from Pravah, Delhi saying .”Mukesh Bhavsar we are glad to select you as one of the 10 Indians for Global Xchange Program 2011-12!” GX is also known as Youth Xchange program.

Youth Xchange is a 6 month opportunity, with 12 weeks spent working overseas and 12 weeks spent in the UK. The Youth Xchange programme gives young people the opportunity to work on projects tackling important issues, making an impact overseas as well as back on home soil. This year we are going to work with Greater Manchester Youth Network (GMYN) in UK and Barefoot college, Tilonia in Rajsthan (India).

Global Xchange is run by VSO and the British Council and is now part of the International Citizen Service (ICS), a new global volunteering programme launched by the Prime Minister and funded by the Department for International Development (DfID).

Just now all 10 of us have completed ITC (Introductory Training Course) at Delhi. We are really thankful to Nitin and Nivi from Pravah, Delhi for this 3 day informative fun activity. Next 6 months are surely going to be very exciting.
